Lincolnshire Police have been called to an ongoing major incident at Lincoln Prison.
UPDATE 3pm: The Ministry of Justice has confirmed the disturbance involved one wing of the prison and all prisoners are in their cells.
A MOJ spokesperson said: “Staff are working to resolve an ongoing incident at HMP Lincoln. All prisoners are currently in their cells.”
They also confirmed there have been no fires, riots or any hostages taken.

A number of police riot vans and cars have been called to the scene of the incident, which began this morning.
An eyewitness has also said that police dogs are patrolling the area.
The Ministry of Justice has said they are looking into the incident.
The disturbance at the Catedgory B men’s prison has meant that a number of visitors and family members have been turned away.
The prison has more than 600 male inmates, but denounced claims that there had been a hostage situation or a riot.
GeoAmey prison vans have been arriving throughout the afternoon and it’s thought people are being moved out of the prison.

A number of people have been allowed into the prison, however visitor entrances have been closed for much of the day.
