Bracebirdge Heath Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) gained the first PCSO car in Lincoln.
Lincolnshire PCC Alan Hardwick met with PCSOs in the area, who explained the difficulties of patrolling rural spots, especially if they were using their bikes.
The PCC spoke with the Cheif Constable, and managed to secure Bracebridge Heath with a livery car, complete with two racks for bikes.
The car will help PCSOs cover the patch more efficiently, but the bikes will still mean they are visible and approachable in the community.
It is hoped the PCSO car will be seen as a way of advertising that the PCSOs are out working within their communities.
Other areas within Lincolnshire may also receive livery PCSO cars, subject to resident support and approval.
