The Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police has been appointed by the Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner Alan Hardwick to investigate allegations into potential conduct matters that led to the suspension of Lincolnshire Police Chief Constable Neil Rhodes.
Sir Peter Fahy will be in charge of the investigation after the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said it will not look further into the matter because “they do not amount to serious corruption or misconduct.”
After the IPCC referred the matter back to PCC Hardwick, the commissioner promised to carry out his own local investigation into the allegations.
Lincolnshire PCC Alan Hardwick, said: “I am pleased to appoint Sir Peter Fahy to conduct an independent and rigorous investigation and I look forward to receiving his findings in due course.”

PCC Hardwick suspended Neil Rhodes from duty on February 25 after he was made aware of potential conduct matters.
However, the allegations have not been detailed, and even acting Chief Constable Alec Wood said he and the force are not aware of what the claims entail.
Meanwhile, Lincoln MP Karl McCartney wrote to Home Secretary Theresa May, who is in charge of policing in England, calling for transparency in the investigation and the reasoning behind it.
